Dealers are closing down like crazy. This can not be a good sign. Here on Long Island, we just lost two dealers in the last few months. Huntington is gone as well as Oakdale

They aren't rats jumping ship. They are business owners whose businesses have failed because Mitsu can't design and promote cars that enough Americans want to buy. You can't keep a U.S. car dealership network alive on 5000 - 6000 EVO sales per year. They have to sell Galants, Eclipeses and Monteros, and they can't. The competition from Toyota, Honda, Nissan and the domestics is killing Mitsu NA.

 

Sounds like Mitsubishi needs a cash injection + takeover a la Daimler/Chrysler...

I would really hate to lose the EVO in North America b/c of this...

 

they already did before but decided to stop since they dont see anything coming good from it

 

we lost a mitsu dealer here in vegas too

 

New Rochelle closed up it's service section, i heard the sales part is soon to follow...but thats cause they SUCK!! I really don't think losing Mitsu would be such a bad thing...Think about the value of your car...it would def go up becasue they wouldn't be producing anymore!

 

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

 

Maybe not right away...but long term they will hold value no question

 

we had in town for 3 or 4 months. what a waste of money. open a new facility get inventory and salaries.

browning mitsu closed here in cerritos , rumour has it there is a new one moving in but the space that is available used to have a small gas station

 

Torrance, Calif. Mitsu is gone too.

 

Carmax Dulles, Virginia had a dedicated Mitsu section that's closing.

 

southgate mitsu has changed its focus from cars to what the sell alot of now, RV's


also I'm working for a company that supplies GM and I have heard threw the grapevine that GM is attempting to buy the Mitsubishi Name from DCX - nothing i hear is concrete, but i could see it happening
