The test that I am waiting for is between the EVO 7 GSR vs. US EVO 8 vs. JDM EVO 8 GSR. Although, I do have a feeling that I am not going to like the results of such a test , but hey, we gona take what we have!

Actually the test should be:

Evo 7 RS2 (exported version as sold by E.I.) v/s US Evo v/s JDM Evo 8 (GSR).

In the japanese EvoVIII brochure, there is a comparesion between the JDM EvoVIII GSR and the JDM EvoVII GSR, the EvoVIII is faster by a little:
0-100km/h : 0.1 second faster
0-400m : 0.1 second faster
40-80km/h : 0.7 second faster
80-120km/h : 0.5 second faster

Hmm... the trim level in the MMC press release is listed as GSR, how come we are only getting the 1 din dash
Also, notice the gasoline requirement is listed as RON98, in southern cali we only get 91 or 92, how will this affect the car

the Evo8 is specced at 3250 lbs
the Evo 7 that Road & Track tested weighed in at 3250....

I am thinking that weights for these two cars are pretty similar... I would love to see these two cars in the USA on a set of scales.

So its official... but this leaves one question unanswered. So the US-spec Evo says it has 271 hp, we all know that even thought the J-spec Evo VII says that it has 276 hp, it is actually somewhere closer to 300 or 310. Now I know that you can tune the be-Jesus out of this car, but I think that stock, this car is going to be considerably slower than the VII, what do you guys think?
