warranty issues

i just got a act street clutch kit and im getting it installed i at my mitsu dealer now the problem is they wanna void my warranty bcuz it not a oem clutch they say it a performance clutch and if anything happens to my trans. its on me, can they do this? the reason i took it to the dealer is so my warranty wouldnt get void?they said its not guarteened to fit or work properly bcuz its a aftermarket clutch, but its a ACT made for my evo

just deal with it and move on. the ACT clutch will be harsh on the drive line.so that is why they say that.

Bull pucket! Your warranty should only be voided if the part you change causes the other parts to fail. This is a written act won in court. This means that if the new clutch fails then they are not responsible for it. This also means that if the trans breaks they can void the trans warranty also. They have to prove it was the clutch that caused the failure to deny the trans warranty though. They cannot deny warrantying any part that they can't provide proof the damage was caused by the aftermarket part. Now remember, all this is just in theory, since they can technically do whatever they want. It is up to you to fight them on it. Hope this helps.

Um, your warranty will get "restricted" not VOID, there's a difference...if your exhaust breaks then it is still supposed to be covered under warranty, but if something involving the clutch in ANY way breaks...then you're screwed....but hey, your headlights will still have a warranty! Check out the Mitsu Voiding Warranties thread on here...bad news, I know

just mod it anyway, they like to fight doing warranty work all the time, unless the dealer is awesome
