Firewall leaks anyone????

I noticed that my car smelled like mildew and then I noticed that my carpet was soaked. I pulled the Recaros, the console and the carpet and had some standing water in my floor-board! My carpet pad is ruined and I'm checking to make sure the A/C isn't leaking or the firewall from water on the outside of the car.

I've had the recall for the O2 harness, but they never mentioned the firewall. Where do I find this on the web.

chk in your passenger side footwell(under the glove box. there's a hose in there that goes from your ventilation housing through the firewall...meant to allow moisture to escape that gets into the ventilation system. if this was moved or pulled through the firewall into the cabin side...it can cause the symptoms you list

JDMEVOVIII, any luck with the dealer fixing this? My car's been at the dealer for two freakin weeks!!!!!!! I did not have water in my car but I got enough under the steering column to toast all the wiring harnesses, I think there are 2 main harnesses. Anyway, the harnesses are on back order, nothing they can do until they get the parts in from Japan!!!!! Anyone else experience something similar?

I had this happen with my Lancer and I assume it's the same. I can't remember the exact details of it but it's something to do with the overflow for the A/C being blocked. The dealer took care of it for me.

Oh yeah... The same thing happened to me too in my old OZ. There is this little rubber nipple right up against the firewall that drains the condensation from the fan box in the car. Sometimes it will get clogged up with leaves and debris. I think you can pull the nipple off and fish out what ever is in there.
