Question just curious if anyone has this?

i was wondering if anyone has this item on their car? http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release091004.htm
i know it might be heresy but i like the sound of my stock exhaust on my MR but maybe this would help the turbo some?

any ideas?

I wanted to post the same thing last week but I forgot the same of it. I personally think its a great thing to have for people that dont want loud exhaust when cruising, but can have the performance when they need it. Plus its alot cheaper than a turboback!

there is also an electronic dump tube that is out there that u can choose when u want to open it up with the press of a button. you dont need to wait to be in boost and such.

for obvious reasons id assume youd still want to get a DP and attach this prior to your cat.
the fabriacation cost on that wouldnt be too high.
however, id see the following issues with such a system:
a) youd more than likely be blowing fire out of it since the only way youd really see benefits are precat.
so that would be something to look out for when placing the unit
b) youd probably need an 02 sim since youd be throwing low exhaust rates through the cat back system while in boost.

Yea, a straight dump on an evolution is loud.. Too loud... unbearable to drive more than a few miles.

yeah but how long are you going to be at full boost? if you set it to open at say 14 or 15 lbs normal driving it should never open right?

nice find... but check this out... custom downpipe w/electronic cutout already fab'd on for our beloved Evo8... and made by quicktime... top notch unit, i've seen these in person, and one with a full winter on it and still worked like a charm... TBA when it'll be out... but if i can find my email from fall, they said it'd be ready in spring...

and you get a random-tech hi-flow cat with it for icing on the cake...

here's a link... i'm game for it... and there's some demo-vids on the unit on other cars...

think about it... open dp power on demand, and still quiet when you need it to be... must sound sick cracked open though, i'd prolly like it too much... lol

im new to this whole turbo thing. would this be something you would run with the other item (above) or instead of? or would both be better in some fashion?
