EVO RS, who has one and how much was it?
I was wondering how much I should expect to pay for an EVO IX RS? I understand they have not come out with a price yet but I saw the EVO VIII RS and they were around $27,000... I would need the urban jungle but is there much give on EVO sticker? I am on the path of going used, maybe even a used RS but that's not for a year or so, the used RS seems really hard to find but I would expect the used RS to be cheaper then the regular EVO used... or maybe more because there scarce compared in used form. I was wondering what all you guys paid for your EVO new and what it may take to get them to break sticker, I know around here ALL the Mitsu dealers are CRAZY about there EVO's... they are the platinum of the car lot, no touchy, no feely and definately no drivey. They should all have force fields around them or something, you step near one it is like that Jetta commercial were the guy dives and tackles the shopping cart so it doesn't touch the car... that is how I feel anyways.
I paid around $29K but that was with some negative equity rolled in from my trade. The dealers around here have lots of inventory, so you should be able to deal.
Remamber Mitsu REALLY needs to sell some cars so if your credit is even just okay you should be able to get a good deal.

Well I don't plan on buying until next year about this time. I don't know weather I should go for a used 03 or 04 or buy a EVO IX RS, I am 19 so my wallet is not HUGE but I can handle about $450 per mo. I am just thinking about what to do with my Explorer, I will owe money on it obviously, that is only a year away... I will probobly owe a good $2000-$3000 on that, I will have a little cash saved up on the side, probobly $2000 or so, I just don't want to fall on my face so I think I will have to go used as tempting as the 0 mileage no worry of abuse is, what do ya think? If it were used it'd have between 20-30,000 miles.
Don't forget to factor in maintenace.. If you buy a used evo you may have more to worry about (tires/brades/fluids etc...) You will want to factor these things into buying a new one as well.. I spend around 1500 a year on tires alone.
I paid $26,100 ($300 over invoice) for a new '04 RS. There is no such thing as an urban jungle package, that was a rumor. It's a great deal for all the perfomance you get, and you save at least $8,000 over the price of an MR.

I'd say you need quite a bit more than $450/month. I paid sticker, $26800 for my RS. My payment is $500, insurance can be alot depending on your age, just paid $902 for a set of stock rubber that won't last a year. Ownership cost of the evo is way more than any car I have owned before.
I would have a couple thousand down, I did the math on it and it comes out to that. I would like to know what was the method to the madness... why did you buy an RS over the others? was it because it was cheaper? was it because it is more of a hardcore EVO? What options can you have the dealer add? Is A/C optional or non existant for this trim... I wonder how much the EVO IX RS will be and if it will have rims, the japanese photo shows that it has NO RIMS just crappy behind the hub cap ****.
ev0e1ght: I don't mean to be the party crasher here, but you keep starting threads on subjects that have been discussed thoroughly in the past. There are almost 1000 threads discussing the RS in one way or another. Do you research, then ask. You'll get quick, polite, and very informed answers.
