Exclamation Evo Payments + New vs Used Evo!!!

Hey,
I've searched already but thought it's time for another.
How much do you guys pay monthly for your car(to dealer, not talking about loans).
Also how much do you guys pay for insurance (Tell your age).

I'm wondering if it will really be worth it to get an 05 Evo brand new, or maybe an 06 Evo 8 if they even have one. Or will it only be Evo 9 for sure?
Or just to try and find a used Evo with low milage.
I'm concerned with the clutch issue, half of the Evos being sold could be a day away from slipping. Most evo owners drive their cars like ****, so do you think I would be safe buying a used one? If I do, what is the highest milage you would recommend on me buying it with? Under 5k? 3k? etc etc

I'm trying to get the best car I can get, for the least amount of money ovbiously, but the biggest thing I want is, I dont want to have tons of problems with my Evo, so if having a new Evo will really have a big effect on that, then take this paragraph into your thinking before you vote.

Thanks for your time

i pay $560/month to a third-party credit union and pay $260/month insurance...24 years old w/one ticket, one 'accident' - progressive auto

i voted for the 05 - i figure it would be good if you can wait to get one when the IX is released...i bought my '03 in '04 and it was a good deal (it's the stuff they lied about that makes my payment so high)

good luck!

While I don't have an Evo yet -- I hope to shortly

For me, my insurance is pretty high. Right now it is around $1100 every 6 months -- the Evo would bump it up to about $1300.

Why so high?
I'm 24, live in South Carolina (one of the highest states I've heard), I'm not married, I've had one minor at-fault collision (last year), one speeding ticket (but 8 years ago).

For me, payments on a new Evo will probably be in the range of $500-$600 a month for a GSR and $650-$700 for a MR @ about 5% APR over 72 months with $2000 or so down. I have really good credit, but I don't think Mitsu will give you much better than 5% APR over 72 months (and that may be wishful).

Good luck!!

I got 3.7% through my Mitsu dealer for 5 years. My 2004 RS came out to $26,500 taxed and titled. I pay $323 every 6 months on insurance.

What type of insurance do you have?
Full coverage?

Wait for the IX. If it's no big deal, then you can decide whether or not to save cash on a leftover 05, if it has the whole shebang (i.e. AYC and ACD) then it's a no brainer, in my opinion.

I'm not diggin the whole Evo 9 looks so far, the performance might be somewhat better, but im not racing and im not gonna be a street racer. So for me it makes almost no difference. I'd rahter save 5-10 grand and get an extra 150 HP+++++ out of that

it all depends what u put down... I got a used 03 and put 5500 down car cost 23k and my payments are 294 and insurance is 344 every 2 months (on parents policy) and im 18 and they said when i turn 19 it will drop below 500 every 6 months! Just save and puts sum money down or it will kill you... Ive seen ppl on here with like over $500 a month for 84 months and thats crazy in my opinion but if u got the cash go for it!

Well with the whole clutch issue, is buying a used EVO really a good idea?

Buy an evo with an aftermarket clutch already installed if the clutch issue worries you so much. An ACT clutch doesn't cost much anyway.

I would never buy a modded car, because you know it was driven very aggresively.
