econ major... look, in the real world, i doubt the 05 is going to depreciate any 'slower' than the others.

But the dealer gave me $15,500 on the SI, I bought it new for 15k.
But goes to show you there are cases of appreciation in value.

With the IX coming out everything changes so anyone who is partial to the VIII's body style will have to get an 05 if they want ACD and the upgraded turbo. Maybe our 05's will increase in value.
Don't think so. If takes a **** then maybe they will be become a collector in 30 years. Thats a long time to wait.

Honda's reputation > Mitsubishi's reputation.

The si is cheap to own and maintain, I think the high cost of maintaining the evo may be a negative factor in its resale value, in addition to mitsubishi's worsening reputation.

i think they will all slowly depreciate the same. some people will argue that the '03's will hold value as the 1st ones to hit US soil, but i bet you can't find a stock one with low miles...

the only evo with a chance of holding value is a totally stock MR with less than 1000 miles on it. collectors buy stock hardly driven cars in PURE stock form. nothing else will do unless you're at the Barrett Jackson auctions...

The evo actually has good resale. Also by the the time the 10 comes up I would not be surpised if the msrp is 40+. The ls400 went up 15 grand after 2 years back in 92.

No it doesn't. I went to the bank for a motorcycle loan. I secured it with my car. That price they gave me as an asset value was $19xxx. That's TERRIBLE considering I bought the car 19 months ago.

Unless you keep the car in a close garage and put each year less than 500 miles

'03 Tarmack Black, less than 22,000 miles (do you consider that low?)

Stock except for K&N panel filter and trunk debadging (both easily returned to stock form)

Any takers?
