People with dynoflash i need your help!!!
Hey peoples, i currently have the AMS full exhaust with a HF cat, hallman MBC set at 20psi, buschur air filter and thats it. Yet im planning to get my ecu flashed so i could get the full potential since im not going to mod my car for a while because a baby is on the way. So i was wondering how this dynoflash works? Do i send my ecu with my mods and they will tune it? Also how much is it going to be? Im planning to add cams, fuel pump, and the hks rs intake after my kid is born, so im also wondering if they have a discount price for a reflash after the first flash. Al if you are reading this please tell me what to do and ill send my ecu right after you reply with some good info. Thanks for your time people
**i also have an sfac II but its not intalled. Will i need this item if i flash it, or should i sell it and keep flashing while i have the stock turbo and then upgrade to a stand alone as the mods increase?

Most of your questions would be answered in the dynoflash forum..
You could get a mail in flash but a custom tune would be ideal in the long run.
A mail in is around 200 or so I believe.. I'm not sure what the current rate for a custom flash is.. but there are several options..
If you have a safcII you should get a wideband o2 / logger.. you could do some of your own conservative tuning.. in addition you could probably use a mail in flash as well..
I'm currently running similar mods with a mail in flash and safcII.. I haven't had the $$$ to get a nice wideband yet but I'll probably go that route and wait til I get cams to get a custom tune. I can tell you first hand even with the mail in flash.. the car is still running pretty rich.
I'm using a walbro 255 as it was recommended with the flash.
Hopefully this will help get you started.. I'm sure others will chime in.

have you melted your rear bumper abit yet? your EGT right now should be through the roof unless your not really running 20 psi and your gauge is inaccurate (i hope). you have not even listed a fuel pump upgrade. the stock fuel map default is "aggressively" set to 19 psi tappering down to 16 psi. so now you are forcing your evo to run at 4 psi higher while the injector is ejecting fuel usually enough for 16 psi... even WITH a fuel pump upgrade, you will need an ecu flash or the SAFC to safely increase fuel at the top end while decreasing fuel in the lower rpms to increase power and reduce bogging....
basically assuming you ARE running 20 psi, then you are hitting detonation often (which forces ur ecu to pull timing) and/or you are in the danger of ruining ur engine, i would highly recommend you tune your MBC to MAX 19, or even less until you get your tune or SAFC

The reason that you use an SAFC is to pull fuel, not add it (with the exception of tuning idle issues), though a fuel pump is cheap insurance.
To answer the question, a mail-in flash would not be a bad way to go and you don't need the SAFC with the mail-in flash unless you want to lean it out a little more and have a wideband or local tuner to help you. The car is plenty safe on the mail-in tune. Price for a mail-in tune is $150-200 depending on whether there is a sale. Cost for a reflash for more mods later is $100 + shipping.

If you ship you ECU you usually get it back the next day. Mail-in flashes cost $200.
I have very similar mods...intake, catless full exhaust, and MBC set to 20.5psi. After dynoflash, the car puts down 275hp and 306ft-lb to the wheels. The wideband readout shows 11.2 A/F ratio from 4000rpm-redline, which I leaned out further to 11.4 with a SAFC.

You will be very happy with the reflash, it will really wake the car up. I had 03 that al flashed before i got cams and it ran great and then i got cams and let tt flash it and the cars power band was really choppy feeling it had that coming on to cam feel which was cool for straight line but not so great for the moutains here in virginia, then i sold my car to friend and he let al reflash it and the car runs really smooth and just dosnt quit pulling, with tt flash i ran 7.8 at 80 in the 1/8th i dont know the time my boy ran but his trap with the dynoflash was around 88 mph. So what i am trying to say is you will be happy with Al and flash. by the way these were all thru the mail.
