Nick735 got his to fit perfectly and was able to use the brackets that came with the Apexi intake kit. The key is to find out which one MAF pipe he has. He has HKS Suction kit listed in his signature.

Nick735: Did you buy the HKS RS kit and not use the filter? Or did you just buy the pipe by itselft, that was supposed to be used with the stock air box. Boost solutions used to have that stock airbox MAF pipe on their website, along with the part number. I havent been able to find that part number listed anywhere since there website shutdown. It was originally fitted for the Evo 7.

there are actually 3 brackets, one close to strut tower, one more front, and the IC brace. I personally am using none of them with this combo. Its no where close enough.

the only reason i have the HKS RS pipe mated to the Apexi, is because i was able to get the HKS RS intake kit almost new from a buddy for 70$ cuz he sold his evo.

Here is the pipe that I am talking about. Hope the link works: http://translate.google.com/translat...lr%3D%26sa%3DN

Part number is HKS p/n 1302-SM006. It says failure with HKS power flow intake (translated stock air box fitment)

I bought the pipe seperatly from boost solutions so it must be the pipe for the airbox. As far as the bracket that is hooked up, its the top bracket not the one on the bottom that is basically impossible to install.

If you just bought the pipe itself from Boost solutions, for like $145 or so, then that is part number 1302-SM006.

There are 2 brackets that bolt to the filter, then there is the one bracket that shares the bolt with the front bracket (closest to the bumper), that is the one that bolts to the intercooler pipe. You hooked up the front two brackets using that one hole, but didnt bolt up the rear bracket? Is that correct? Could you bolt up the rear bracket if you wanted to go to the trouble?

Yea you can bolt up that other bracket but it is a serious PITA to do so. It is realy solid with just one bracket attached.
