Check out Buschur Racing and his $80 Airfilter which has the MAS plate built into the filter unit making it quite a bit shorter in overall length. That should clear up any fitment issues you guys are running into.

You can check out pictures here:

Hope that helps!

Got it from Marty at www.injectedperformance.com. He is a vendor on these forums.

HKS P/N 1302-SM006, I think is the part number. I listed it on the page 3. It is expensive but fits perfect. This pipe is different in shape that the HKS Racing Suction hardpipe (the one that Helix copied).

Is this part listed on that website at all or did you have to call them and order it directly from them?

You have to call them and order it. It is not listed on many websites at all.

here are some pics of the HKS suction pipe with the Apexi intake
Note all the brackets are used. And the filter is not touching!

One thing I just realized is that, with the stock air box there were rubber grommets used to mount the box to the body and a rubber MAF pipe. This allowed movement of the motor without putting stress on the airbox mount or turbo.

When using the Apexi intake with all the brackets solidly mounted to the chasis and a hardpipe, we have eliminated most of the flex allowed in the system. The silicon couplings allow some movement (unless the hardpipes are butted together). This movement is much less than the stock system allows. I am going to look for some rubber grommets or isolation rubber mounts to use when bolting down the Apexi brackets down to the chasis.

Just something for people with the hardpipe setup and apexi filter to think about.

I put down 1/8 rubber sheets with one sided adhisve cut to fit the brackets. when I removed the ram-air system there was some paint rubbed away! Around the air box and under the stock boost controller bracket had the same condition.
with rubber the plastic ram air does not move much at all and it looks much cleaner. This may give a little to under engine movement.

Hey thats great forcepower, just a FYI...that "heat shield" actually makes the intake temps higher as I noticed as much when I had mine on. On my Power FC, it was usually 7 degrees C higher temps on average with that on.

Thanks, I will give it a try, I thought the shield was a little lacking. I have been thinking of getting the Apexi induction box. I wonder if that will have fitting issues too or if its worth the 100.00 bucks.

The induction box works fine with the stock intake tube...I dont know how it would work with a hardpipe. You do have to flip one of the sensors as it gets in the way. This sensor isnt on the JDM version of the car (at least from pics I have seen). It is one of the two yellow sensors in the front of the car.

As far as the apexi "box" (actually just two peices of alum), it works very very well...I had much lower intake temps with it, usually 10 C or so lower than without.
