Apexi Power Intake with MAF hardpipe

I was looking for information or pictures about how the Apexi Power intake filter works with MAF hard pipes or Suction pipes? HKS used to sell a MAF Suction pipe for use with the stock air box. I remember reading somewhere that people were using this with the Apex Power intake. I have searched and cant find the thread. Now Helix has a replica MAF suction pipe like the HKS racing suction. I was wonder if anyone has tried this with Apexi filters also. The Apexi intake comes with specific mounting brackets and it fits good with the stock rubber suction pipe, was just curious if these hard pipes allow the brackets to be retained.

Anybody have pictures or any information or threads you can direct me to?

Thanks
Brian

I just made this set-up work. Not too tough, just time consuming.

im running the HKS pipe with my Apexi filter setup...actually it doesnt fit well at all. It will push the whole setup too far toward the driver side fender and the filter ends up against your IC sprayer resevoir. Ive got this setup just laying in my car right now, and not bolted down, Just clamped to the turbo inlet is all. It's not a 100% fit with this combo.

Cool thats the information I was looking for. 93civEJ1 is your the pipe that comes with the HKS racing suction kit or is it the HKS pipe that is made to fit with the stock air box? They are different from what I was told...

I have the hks pipe and apexi filter and it fits perfect. 93cevEJ1, are you sure you installed it right? I remember it being somewhat of a pita install but everything ended up linning up correctly. I dont realy have any pics of it at the moment but you can see it on this video.

Whick pipe did you get? Are you using the Racing Suction pipe that came with the Racing Suction kit or did you buy the HKS pipe for the stock air box?

BTW, 93Civ: that is a smokin deal for the whole HKS Racing suction kit.

Any help/tips you can offer on the install? Got any pics? I've got the Dejontool intake pipe and just ordered the Apexi intake.

I'm hoping I can get it all to fit. I'd keep the stock airbox but my mini battery kit won't fit without a cone filter.

nah, everything is put together right.. I know how to install stuff fine. Trust me, an intake is cake. Its like the combo of the RS pipe and Apexi filter/maf adapter, makes the combo too long, and will not fit because of the length of the combo (hits resevoir) , and also will not allow bracket to bolt down.

I must have the pipe for the stock airbox because mine fits fine. I wasnt aware that there was a difference between the one for the stock airbox and the pipe for the rs kit.

I think you and I have covered this topic many times. the combo works great. I just couldnt find a way to use the brackets that came with the power intake so I left it resting.
