Cat back Exhaust

Hey, i have the Borla catback exhaust and am getting complaints from neighbors that it's too loud! (running catless and a gt30 turbo) They put notes on my door that say to "fix my exhaust." but it is fixed... the cams also dont help my situation.

Are there any other catbacks that are more "tame" sounding/ better sounding than the Borla?

PLEASE HELp! thanks

If they have older style windows the low growl of the exhaust is likely rattling them whenever you pull in. I'm putting my Buschur Racing 3" turbo back on today and hopefully the Magnaflo muffler is in the 92-93 dB range compared to the full race muffler at 99 dB. Of couse you are likely just idling into the driveway so it's just the deep growl that they are hearing and there isn't alot you can do about that short of going back to stock.

Um, I don't think it has anything to do with your cat-back...

if it's under 95 db, it's legal. Get a sound test done and shove that up your neighbors mail box.

amen to that, just come home and dont drag your throttle, make sure and just give it a little gas in 2nd gear or so to keep volume to a minimal. Its the catdel that makes the noise, just get home and dont leave turbo timer running, otherwise I would tell them to F off and that you could drive a mustang if they wanted it louder.

dude the megan exhaust is loud as hell on my buddy's '05 but i think thats because his has the 10.5 hotside housing. There's really not much you can do if you're running catless tho, it's gonna be loud. You could get a jdm-style exhaust (HKS, APEX, ESPELIR, etc.) that usually have a silencer insert. Keep the silencer in your car and when you get to your neighborhood at night, just pop it in real quick without the screw and it should be dramatically quieter.

The RMR is very nice. Plus it comes with paper work that shows that it is under the 95 dB limit.

understandable you don't want to **** off your nieghbors, but explain to them that you work hard for your tuning parts and don't boost so hard past there houses, compromise a agreement in which you don't have to switch parts.

Thanks guys. Yeah they are complaining because of the sound the borla exhaust makes at idle. It has the low crackling sound that makes things sound "broken" =( if i get the greddy evo 2 CAT back system do you guys think it'll fix the sound at idle?

I admit the car is loud since i have cam's, a gt30 turbo, and an Autronic Stand alone ems.. the idle is rised to about 1100 rpm's. but i never thought neighbors would be such ***'s about it. What's ironic is, i'm getting the most complaints from the neighbor who has an old corvette stingray. I think the Borla exhaust comes wiht paperwork that says 50 state legal.. but i had the part where it tapers down to 2.5 inches removed. haha MORE FLOW!

anyway, please let me know about the greddy evo 2... will the difference be worth the 575$ to change?
