Might be getting an Evo and had a few questions

Basically i have 350z right now and i might be selling to get an Evo. I tried searching but came up with nothing, so i figured id ask. What are the safety ratings on the evo? any links so i can see? My options are the Evo or the STi,or save for a TT for the Z. and iam not sure what to go yet.
What are some honest opinions, not just biased evo owners. I realize iam on an evo forum, but i wanted to hear some honest answers on some problems i heard the Evos had, what are they? And when i go to test drive the Evo, anything i should look for. Also if u know, how well did the STi do on the crash rating? thanks, and lets see how nice this forum is .

I don't think the evo's crash ratings are very good, although I've seen pics of a lot of bad crashes on here and everyone seems to walk away. As for problems, the transmission can be a little quirky, but that's the only problem I've had personally. Overall it has been a great car thus far.

I think the STi got a "Good" in everything for a front offsett . The Evo got a "Good" in everything except for one, which it got an "Acceptable" in. NHTSA frontal was 4/5 for both for the Evo, who knows what the STi got. I think the STi is a bit safer than the Evo, especially from the side.

Did the Evo get bad side crash ratings? Have a link to all this?

And the Evo can be alot faster then an STi for cheaper right?
What is the max size wheels i can put on? Cause i just ordered 19" 8.5front 9.5 rear, or 9.5 font 10.5 rear... but i guess if i was gettn an evo i would want them all to be the same... haha.. Black SF Challenges for my Z the other day.. but wont get in for like 2months... will these fit on the Evo?

So only the tranny has some problems, that warranty will fix right? And what voids the warranty on the car?

When i go in for a test drive tomorrow, anything i should ask about or watch out for?

there is a thread with the crash test results plastered over it.

The test might not came out good, but I haven't heard evo fatality yet.

Hrm.. basically only reason i might have to get out of the Z is cause of rents saying its too small and unsafe... would the Evo honestly be any safer?

Ya the offset i got wouldnt work cause its 9.5 front and 10.5 rear... and id want everything the same.. so i just will cancel that order till i decide what car iam sticking with.

So are there any other problems with the Evo besides the tranny?

case one.

a friend.

350z + $15,000

still having ecu EMS issues. made not a very good number. Est whp = suppose to be 400whp.

350z has the retarded ECu that just doesn't want to learn or change.

case 2.

a friend.

twin turbo 350z.

dump like 20,000.

blew the pistons out. mechanical problems/few other issues.

case 3.

me.

tbe from a good friend. It's ugly as hell, but it makes more power than any tbe out there now.

mbc from my gf.

I made 304 whp 319 tq with dynoflash ($300)/ fuel pump ($100)

total - $400 + tbe + christmas gift MBC.

car runs a bit rich but no problem what so ever.

go evo!

350z's are scared to hit it when they see the evo next to them... even after some egging on by me.
