Post pics of your legal roll cage
I would recommend padding the entire thing Tim if you are going to let anyone else ride in it on the street. More safety sh*t to wade through
Might be a good idea to do a 10pt right away too as I'm sure with the mods you are talking about you will see 10's soon.

BTW, the cage in the Sparco Evo you linked to is totally "all show and no go." No race sanctioning body would allow that ridiculous design.

That's why most of us who are serious about this stuff have dedicated track cars that we don't drive on the street (except maybe to and from events). That's the only "no compromise" solution.

since this one is back home, 15 miles away from the ring i couldnt help it and bought an evo 9 mr last week, picked it up yesterday, i love it. what a great car. a daily driver, and a true racing tool. i am more than happy....

You can, of course, ask your builder to make you a cage that doesn't interfere at all, but those cages won't give you as much protection on the track. It's a trade-off.

Most 6-point cages, therefore, run afoul of DOT standards because they block the use of sunvisors of all things! Plus, the door bars significantly interfere with egress/ingress unless you made them removable (which isn't great for safety).
It sounds like the TUV is far more progressive.

I notice you live in madison wisconsin, but if you are interested in quality work, my buddy owns an off-road shop in St. Louis who build cages, tube chassis and much more everyday for 4x4 vehicles. They have also built cages for drag cars. They can do a great job. Their website is www.asshogger.com. A few months ago they built an entire exo-skeleton cage for a jeep scrambler for a guy from Wisconsin.

Will anyone actually let you run that on the track? As it is, it wouldn't meet SCCA or FIA regs.
