They way I see it the 8 at this point is slightly more attrative. The 5spd is smoother shifting then the 03. Also ACD front limited slip and 10.5 hot side. Now with leather and a better sound system and I can get it ASAP.

On the other hand if I wait for a 9 it will have all that with even bigger cold side and Cam timing. COOL but I can't mod it the same way or as easily as the 8 because of the cam timing. And I have to wait. So I wondering if it's worth the wait. Also I have a very good friend at a Dealer that can give me a 9 for 500 over when it comes.

So do you see why I'm wondering what everyone else thinks also I had a EVO 8 when they first came out when dealers were asking 4-7K over sticker. I got if for 800 over same dealer. So they have my biz back and this is a friend.

Im sure with this new engine, mods will be harder to achieve, not to mention no one will have tuning software for a while. On the other hand, the evo9 is suppose to be pretty badass, I saw where fifth gear got it to run a 4.2 0-60 which is smoking alot of modded evo 8's. 8 will be cheaper but its your call, just my opinions.

ya but it's the same car and they have been using Cam timing on other cars with out issues. Same bock tranny body suspention so it will be fine.

IMO it depends on what you want to do with the car. If you're looking to mod, get the 8, if you're gonna keep it stock, get the 9. For me, since I'd mod, the MIVEC is a negative, but the improved aero-dynamics would be a big plus. Is the 9 getting the Bilsteins?

Good point but the new one might be even better to mod with Timing control
