red evo owners!

How long have you had your car? What is the paint condition? I had problems with my paint coming off when buffing and was wondering if any had the same problems. What does your paint look like currently? Good or bad condition?

Just over 2 years and the paint looks terrible, many apparent swirl marks, some slightly faded areas on the trunk lid and the roof. The car isn't waxed as often as it should be but the paint quality is still terrible, probably the worst of all the colors.

I bought mine brand new and when I first waxed it, it was all red in the waxing applicator. I guess Mitsu doesn't paint clear coat for Red Evos

My red is just as pretty as the day I bought it. Every car gets swirl marks, some colors just show them more. As for the color coming off on a wax applicator. I find that very hard to believe. I have waxed mine several times and that never happened.

I have 2 gripes about the paint:

1) When I wax it, I get red on the cloth meaning the paint is coming off...if I don't wax it then it turns pink
2) The paint is soooo thin that bugs cause chips on the hood.

I will be repainting the entire car this winter. 4 coats of color, 4 coats of clear...problem solved.

as for the color: It will be the same, because I am not going to pull the motor to repaint the engine bay...Im WAY too lazy for that.

Swirl marks everywhere, some paint chips, and scratches. Other than that, I call it good!! It looks like new when its kept clean!

This issue has been covered many times before ... the Rally Red color doesn't come with a layer of clear coat, instead the clear coat is mixed with the red paint ... thus you are literally wiping off your paint ... dealership and won't do anything about it .... it is best to repaint your car after a while ...
