Where do I hardwire my V1?

I have a V1 radar detector and Im trying to hardwire it. I took off the plastic covering of the roof lights / sunglass holder and i notice that there is a hot wire, and a ground... no switch. This means that the radar detector would be on all the time... even when the car is off, right?

Has anyone here hardwired their detector? Please let me know how you did it and give me some advice asap! thanks everyone

Heres an easier and safer method http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=071-580

Just replace a 12v switched fuse with this!
