Buschur Mini battery kit& EVO MR don't get along

I just got my deluxe upper pipe plus a mini battery kit from Buschur( Odissey model #pc 680). Everything looks top notch, I am excited. .. I started removing the stock battery and battery tray,.

All the sudden the buschur battery tray does not align at all with my car, the flat tray has a bent of about 45-60 degrees in one of the edges that suppose to hold two screws (12m approx 1"long) which bolt on around the transmision/engine motor mount. I wasted about 30 minutes, I even went to several websites to try to get some pics but could not find any instructions.

I have a theory, Could it be that Buschur made this battery trays wich bolt on into the motor mount on the 5 speed EVO's?
The only thing left that really makes sense is that the MR comes with different shape motor/trasnmission mounts making the Buschur tray installation virtually impossible.

I have taken 4 pics, I am asking you to please e-mail me at carlosgarcia4@***.net so I can send you the pics and you can post them for me(I don't know how to post them).

I am trying to make life easier for me, Buschur and any other EVO MR owner trying to install this tray. The battery is install but it was hell, even the two 8" rods with the butterfly would not adjust to the top custom made sheetmetal plate(this was actually the hardest part of all).

I did not received any instruction for installation either, could that be a mistake when packing?, did I get the wrong battery tray? Is there a specific battery tray for the MR that we did not cover when ordering the part over the phone?

If someone could help, I would appreciate it, otherwise I am calling Buschur in the morning .

Thanks

I have an 05 MR and the BR mini battery kit. It fits fine. I even bought the battery kit for my 04 RS last fall and didn't use it yet, then put it on the MR this year. Sounds like you have the plate turned around the wrong way so the bolt holes won't line up. It only fits one way and one way only. You have to move the wiring harness over slightly too.
In all the install took me 20 minutes while talking on the phone at the same time to a buddy about bikes.

Maybe the piece sent to you was just fabricated wrong. Just call them in the morning. For something like that they would probably send you a call tag, you box it up and send it back. Buschur will ship you a new one. Dave Buschur is the man. He stands behind his products 100%. No biggie.

i had a little problem with mine too... I think you have the same problem as I did. You need to hammer the plate out a little bit as it does not align properly on the motor mount.

I had this same problem in my 03. Took a little time messing with it and got it fit with no problems.

I made some adjustments to mine. I didn't like yanking the crap out of the positive cable to get it to reach. Quick redrill of holes fixed it.

^You've got quite the looker! The orange BOV is so rice-blingy haha jk jk. Yeah just redrill the holes and make it work. I had to bore out the holes on my LIC pipe to get it to work, sometimes they might have a little slip up on some parts but no biggie, their stuff is so nice somtimes you HAVE to make it work.

So much in agreement with above comments. Buschur will definitely back you up as will hist staff like Jarod etc... Either EVOm or Buschur has a "install forum for questions."

I had a crazy time with mine too, but I say upfront I am not a mechanic. Thinking the battery tray was easy enough, I had it and my IC pipe out before I lost patience and had to go get my mechanic to finish the job. By the time he got it all in place at the shop and secure, he had custom tweaked a few things.....especially the blow off valve.

Scary moment was when I left the shop and I heard a bad sound....like the tranny or clutch was going...........less than 500 miles on the car. Luckily, the highest certified chief Mitsu mechanic in Oklahoma was close by and he noticed the battery tray was resting and tapping on something causing the noise. I all but hugged him with the good news after he fixed it!!!!!!!
