Confirmed Delivery Date?!?!

OK.. I just got an interesting call first thing yesterday morning from my dealer.. Keep in mind I've already recieved a VIN# VON# and Stock# for a first wave EVO.. Basically he told me that they have confirmed a delivery date of March 21... I think its BS , but thats 3 weeks from when I was originally told so its entirely possible. This is a car destined for Long Island, NY.. I think this is probably well known info at this point. But I figured I'd contribute something useful.

my 1st wave evo for the dc area got pushed back to march 20'th also, and I was originally told beginning of march too, (3rd). I was afraid that they had pushed me to the 2nd or 3rd wave, but i've been hearing from everyone in the area that they were told same date too..

I just hope the truck get it to me by 3-7-03

Thanks for that articulate reply...

How about clarifying what you meant? I do agree that all of this is a bit of BS, and waiting sucks.

I'm a little frustrated because originally I had to go through the same issue with my Deposit on an SRT-4.. However Dodge could not even provide me with a real car's information, which is what basically lost the sale.

But I'm waiting this one out, I'm completely sold on AWD, however there aren't many other affordable alternatives.. I'll never buy the Subaru WRX STi even if it does end up being faster.. Why? Cuz I find it to be a quite ugly car. And I don't wanna be one of the Riceboys with their Kazoo Farty BOV's and vinyl speed stickers..

I just went into my dealer yesterday. My car has gone from Feb, to March 11th, to March 24th now.
I'm actually glad though. Bigger downpayment. At this point the waiting is nuthin'.

Ship dates for the Midwest changed again today... (not unexpected) to 3/5.

I expect them to fluxuate a lot in the next week or so, as they are loaded on the trains/haulers.

I dont' understand why would it be so hard to estimate ship date after knowing the car will arrive as a 03 model? Who would of thought a 03 model will arrive during March/April Why not just make it a 04 so the car will not depreciate so quickly?

I won't be able to get the car unless it comes quick b/c i'm going out of the country for a long bussness trip So, if they get so delayed I might as well get the STi "more HP under warrentee to protect me from 1st model bugs". I really would, just because they give us better diffs and the car is so close in performance anyways perhaps subaru maybe even better since it came with LSD in the front standrad Potential maybe is better? Who know. If i have to give up my spot i'll let everyone know.

Keeping warrentee with ralliart lsd, "maybe ecu" will be the deciding factor between STi Vs evo if i'm not able to get the car b/c of the ship dates.

Sucks, really thought Mitsubishi would of given us the car during Feburary at the latest last year

For what it's worth, I just got a call fom the Mitsubishi sales manager at my local dealer. They are getting four EVO's, I am first on the list, taking the silver one. The other colors are red, white and yellow in their allottment. Anyway, he said that the cars are held up in Customs and that they would not be here for at least two weeks. He also said that Mitusbishi decided that the carbon fiber rear deck wing is going to be the sginature for the car and that there will be no small spoler option.

so fireball are you saying that the car will be here around the 5th...or is that when it is shipped from the port? I live down in springfield, IL and I would probably get mine about when you get yours.

It's suppose to be when it leaves the port. So, 7-10 days after that. I expect these numbers to change quite a bit in the next week or so, until they are actually on the way.

Well, it appears that you can. Wow, that'll help a lot of people on here, I'm guessing. Pass it on!
