It is that time 30K service

Hey Guys -- It is time for my 30K mile service. What I'm trying to figure out is what I should get done. Note that I looked in the service book and contacted 3 local dealers and every dealer feels like I need something different to complete the 30K check-up and so does the service book.... No one can agree....

A little help from the EVO experts?

I had this done at my 30K:

Check spark plugs
Check brake pads and rotors
Rotate tires
Change tranny fluid
Change transfer case fluid
Change rear differential fluid
Change engine oil & filter

I had a buddy of mine who works at the dealership do the work for me on the side. I think he did it all in about 45 minutes and charged me $200.

Is your buddy the owner of the dealership because you got raped! The fluids are just a fraction of the total cost.

30k service is a complete scam. Save some cash and do it yourself.

ALL of that in 45 minutes? He must have had an "Indy" or "NASCAR" pit crew with him. LOL

All synthetic fluids... come on now. Ask your service manager, this exact same service will cost nearly $400 at the dealership.

Local $tealership wants $245 just to change the tranny/xfer/rear dif fluids... That's why I have more and more people coming to me.

Can't believe you all are giving him crap for $200... It costs twice that easy to normally get it done. I didn't have a choice and even with a coupon it cost me $369, which actually wasn't as bad as I was thinking. They quoted me somewhere around $500 initially, now THAT's a raping.
