went to the dealer the other day

the salesman told me the gsr model with ssl for $35,389 after taxes and the evo without ssl for $33,993 after taxes is this a good price or can it be lowered? he was also saying the apr would be 5-6% if i went through mitsu

Hard to say. You can't make any deals based on "after taxes." The only thing you need to think about is the actual purchase price. What you should do is offer to pay 29.5k for the GSR w/ssl or 28k for the regular GSR. After that, TTL will get added on, but that's not something you can change. The APR is only good if you can't get it financed anywhere else for better. I got 3.99% through my bank (USAA), but that's not really feasible at this point for most. If you can lock them in to 4.99% and the above prices, then you should be good. Don't let them sell one to you for more than invoice, because the IX is coming out, which means they have no bargaining power.

with those quotes it sounds like you would be paying msrp for an evo. you can do better than that. at least 1k less

My friend here in Vegas paid $29,000 for his 05 GSR without the SSL package just last week.

Before all the other miscellaneous fees.

go through your credit union. I got 4.75% for 60months, others got even better. Don't pay Invoice, just below. And don't listen to the lies Dealer tells u . " OOO the going rate right now is 6% " Yeah right

WAY too much. I paid 31K out the door for my GSR w/out SSL, that's pretty much the MSRP for the car, I haggled for about an hour, made the dealer wave the dealer fee, tax and tag/title charge, plus I made them took in my previous lease which had about 1k left on payments. I got my car over Memorial day weekend, now is 2.5 month later and closer to the IX release, you should get a better deal than what I've gotten. 5-6% apr sounds about right, it all depends on your credit history. I got my loan through Bank of America, they had 5.25% and since it was Memorial Day weekend they had a special that cuts off .5%, so I locked in at 4.75% for the car loan.

that is exactly the deal I'm getting quoted as well, and while I'm in the process of getting finances in order (I'd like to pay cash and have it financed somewhere else), they OFFERED to have me put my down payment of $10k and drive it for a month or something until things are finalized. . .is this normal?? IS that even legal?

I did mention to them that I'm in NO rush to get the Evo 8 since the 9 is almost out. . .how close are we to getting the Evo 9??? Because it's basically august NOW, that's like 1 month away from delivery, right??

Instead of paying the $35k out the door including TTL, I'm going to bargain down to $31.5K out the door (Tarmac black with SSL).

Does that sound about right to y'all?? (not to hijack this thread. . .)
