testdrove a 2.7t audi a6 today

my brother was interested in getting a used audi 2.7t a6 quattro 2002 so we both testdrove it, im not sure if anyone here drove one before, but is it just me, or is that car way too slow for a 250hp awd car? i know its not supposed to be evo fast but that thing is slower than a maxima, or at least it felt that way, and i punched it too so its not like i was running off boost

Well, you know that's not true. Low 12s on something that heavy that doesn't even run 13s stock? Chips do great things on turbo'd audis, but to hit low 12s, he'd need around 400whp.

Kind of like the 1.8Ts. Slow as crap but you get owners who think they're fast because it has a turbo. Power to weight ratio is poor on a lot of the Audi's. I had a friend who chipped one and it never ran right afterward.

that was kinda what i told him. I think we was just trying to say that it didnt matter. that car isnt supposed to be fast. just look good. but he swears by it. he has the 4.2 A8. his is fast. he has a bunch of (forget the name) parts on it that probably cost an arm and a leg. its quick though

Yeah, you'd need a little more than a "chip" to get to the 12s in that boat.. Have a look at it's stock stats..

YEAR/MAKE/0-60/1320
1998 Audi A6 Quattro 8.7 16.6

From..

Good luck hitting 12s with that!

If you do a google search you'll find that they have shaved a bit of time off the 98 I mentioned, but not enough to make a real difference. It's official 0-60 is still just over 6.0 seconds!!

Nice car.. but not fast/quick.

The time for that Audi A6 is not for the 2.7t. My dad used to have one, and while it's not that fast it certainly isn't that slow.

No F***ing way a 2.7T can run low 12's with a flash. I recently traded in my A6 4.2 quattro for the EVO MR and have no regrets. That thing was slow, heavy, felt like a bloated whale. Sure, it was luxurious, great highway cruiser, looked fantastic, and was more upscale but it was so boring to drive. In my opinion, Audi's are not great examples of sports sedans even though they are touted as being such. Even the new S4 isn't that fast for the price you pay. I will never buy an Audi again.

Audi claims a 0-60 mph time of six seconds flat
Thank you, drive through.

yea i remember when i had my teg, this one A4 (on a closed track ) kept trying to
pull away from me from a stop. never happened, as i was able to stay with it every time, although in 3rd it would slowly start to gain, but heck, i was in a 120,000 mile N/A car.
my friend had one too, he traded it in for a diesel jetta to saves on gas money though. A4's r nice cars, but that's like what, same engine as the passat.

What exactly are you saying? That the 16.6 1/4mile time is right? If so, I'd say try again.

Read my quote genious.. 0-60 is ~6 seconds. You will not "chip" a car like that and get 12s.. You also can't really beleive what you said..

The time for that Audi A6 is not for the 2.7t. My dad used to have one, and while it's not that fast it certainly isn't that slow.
It IS, very slow, and we ARE talking about the 2.7t.

Move on.
