Why aren't there more SSL packages?

I have been looking for an 05 with the SSL package for a while now and can't find sheet. I go on autotrader and every single one in white or red has cloth. Is everyone to cheap to cough up some $ for sunroof, leather, stereo, etc?
Thanks

Since you got the $$$ why not just go and buy a new one and stop hitting autotrader .

Some people prefer not having it or believe the cost is not worth it

It took me a while to find one also. I ended up buying brand new near your neck of the woods. I ended up with an 05 SSL from Lokey Mitsu. in Clearwater, FL.

Out of curiousity what did you pay?
I had hoped I could find one around $30k in either white or red but with dealers still asking $33k+ I might just wait for the IX.

It's simple. First thing that went in my car was the stereo (no point in getting the infinity one). I dont want leather seats (too much sliding around). The sunroof I was impartial to. HIDs I wanted, but not for $3000. If I could have gotten JUST the sunroof and HIDs I would have paid extra for it, but you can't, so I didnt. Took the $3500 and used it for a stereo/mods in my sig. Most of the time, I dont think its people being cheap, but personal preference.

Look at evo buyers, most don't want a sunroof, factory stereo, leather. So very few SSL's.

its not going to be easy to get a used 05 with everything you want.
give it 2 years and you can have your pick
or go buy new now, and have your pick

I had the exact same reasons. My previous 2 cars have had leather and I really dislike it. It's slippery, gets really hot in the sun, and wears much faster than cloth. I am indifferent about the sunroof and I am definitely not a stereo person. I did want the HIDs but I can just get a kit to take care of that.

Buy a used 03 Evo, it comes standard with HIDs, sunroof is optional, u can get a really good one for about $25K on autotrader. Another $5K worth of mods, your car is a BEAST and much faster than an 05! Who cares about leather and sound anyway? This is a performance car, not luxury. Just my 2 cents!

IMO, I really have to say that the leather adds a very nice touch to the whole car. It takes the car out of the "boy racer" stage to a fairly classy car that you could actually drive your girlfriends' parents around in.

Leather doesn't wear faster than leather, i have NO IDEA where you got that from. . .
I paid 32k before TTL for what's in my sig
And I think it actually makes it VERY classy, comparable to the Acura TSX interior (sort of), so I think it's worth the extra. . . .

i looked around for about 4 months for an 05 WITHOUT ssl. but i was wanting white only so that limited the field a bit. finally had to go throught the dealership in the small town i live in and they went to Wisconsin to get the car because it was the closest to me ( in Southeast MO ) that wasnt at LOU FUSZ in stl, who are ******. they pulled the old bait and switch on me and thought that i had to drive about an hour and a half to get there that i would bite. i told them to bite me and walked.

on the same line as the thread now, any of you guys know an exact production number for the 2005's? i havent been able to get a real number, lots of guesses and approximations though. just wondering.

to the thread starter: good luck finding one with everything you want on it. my .02 is just order a new one and know for sure that it wasnt abused and has what you want. dont settle for anything less than what you want on this car.

i have an white 05 with ssl package. youre never going to find a car less than a year old and exactly how you want it on autotrader. youre going to have to go to a dealer and they will find you one. it took one phone call to locate mine in a nearby state. i paid a little under 35 otd with a few extra acessories such as the metal scuff plates, metal knob and pedals. personally i got the ssl package because i wanted HIDs i knew id regret not having a sunroof and the leather adds a nice touch to the otherwise bland interior. the stereo is crap either way so i didnt even take that into consideration.
your sig says youre driving an m3 so buying a new evo shouldnt be an issue, espeically if youre going to get exactly what you want. good luck with your search, its a hell of a car
