I've got an OEM wing on the way and I was wondering if anyone has done the install themself. I'm hoping to save some money by doing the install myself but if it is too involved I'll let a shop do it. I'd hate to screw up my trunk.
If you had it installed, how much were you charged?

 

i had a shop do it because if you are off by even 1/4 or 1/2" inch u will see it and it will be a wate

 

What were you charged? I want to keep from being over charged.

I found a shop that quoted me $80 for the install. That seems like a fair price. It is certainly worth $80 to keep from having to mount it myself.

I got it for 350 shipped from kilo_dave. If you're patient, every color of wing will come up for sale on the forum.

 

You could just get any color wing and make it all carbon fiber by stripping the paint

have you ever stripped the paint from a wing, what did you use, and did you have to re clear the wing when you where done

 

well i got a spoiler "black in color" but i didnt drill my stock trunk .. i got a whole new trunk from ebay with the lancer OZ spolier so i remove the Oz spolier and attached this spoiler. so i have the two options... wing and wingless.....

so now i have 3 options..... EVO spolier , OZ low spolier , or no spolier!

 

this looks exactly like my car. The install was really easy. u open trunk see where the rubber stoppers are pull them out on each side and there is a spot shown for drilling. that is the back hole. and the other is half way down trunk along edge. it sticks out for drilling. so there is markers on trunk for drill holes. was fun and i like working on my car. otherwise just pay someone to do it for u.

I'm considering an RS as well, and would like to add the wing. Only BUT is, no ABS... which I feel is very important here in SoFL with so much rain...
