91 Pisstane Dyno Shootout in SoCal@TuningTechnologies
I am in the process of organizing a 91 pisstane dyno-shootout in SoCal at Tuning Technologies in early October, probably the 8th and 9th. Tuning reliably for power on 91 is an art form, so this should show some real tuning skills.
Cars will be drained of all fuel and be carefully inspected for dirty tricks
Cars will be given MANY consecutive pulls to ensure for safe and appropriate tunes. For example, if a stock turbo car does 400whp/390torque on the first pull and then fall apart by the fifth pull, making only 330/310 we can ascertain that the car was not tuned properly and will be disqualified. CARS MUST BE BROUGHT READY TO DYNO. NO TUNING WHILE ON THE DYNO.
Entry fee will be around $125 which includes the dyno and a couple of gallons of Union 76 91 octane fuel.
I will be contacting SSC, Turbo Magazine, D-Sport, and Import Tuner to get one of them to cover the event. Feel free to contact me if you read this....
I am looking for Shop entries and individuals to enter at this time. Entries must be four cylinder cars with all wheel drive (therefore Mitsus and Subies).
I need prizes for the various winners. So if your company is willing to sponsor the event, let me know.
If there are any profits made through this event, a percentage of them will be donated to EVOM and NASIOC members who lost their homes due the Hurricane Katrina. I already know of one Evom member who lost almost everything.
Feel free to post up with your ideas on what you think the different categories should be:
Most HP
Most Torque
Most HP and Torque added together
Bone stock turbo and/or Stockish turbo
30R or equivalent
35R or equivalent
I'm looking forward to the following big dogs to enter with their shop cars or customer cars:
RnR
Buschur
Road Race Engineering
Vishnu
ForceFed
Kingpin?
Scott Gray stage eleventy-billion
AMS
DynoFlash
Vivid
Works
Gruppe-S
Tuning Technologies
I'm now looking for volunteers to copy this message and run with it on SoCalEvo, the Subaru boards (Nasioc), and the appropriate DSM boards. Please let me know if you can help.

Tom to make things equal for everyone i will try to have an independant vp fuel rep in charge of the 91 octane so that no one can bend the rules. The 91 octane of choice should be 76 since it is the most additive free and seems to be very consistant batch to batch.

If we include the SRT-4s, do you know someone that would run with it on their boards?
yes i do. i think if we limit to the mitsu, subie, and srt4 that enhances the appeal to the magazines as these are the popular tuner cars at the moment. all came factory turbo and the 2.4 of the neon would equalize the 2.5 of the sti. we all know there will be some strker evos in the hunt so i think these three will be very interesting. i will contact some of the srt-4 community to gauge interest.

Buddyclub 272/272 cams
RS-R GTII exhaust and downpipe
walbro 255 fuel pump
Buddyclub racing spec condenser
B&G full coilover setup
Mods waiting to be installed:
Hallman boost controller
autometer cf boost gauge
K&N drop in air filter
Everything should be done by the end of september. I don't expect to win any contests, but it would be fun to go with everything tuned regardless.

You have to state the rules up front before you call "cheater" on race day
