Do what you should do to any car you are ready to buy preowned, take it to a mechanic. If you know any good tuners around (asuming you own a moddified WRX), I'd take it to them. They could easily find problems. If you have any bad feelings about the car I'd just walk away and I would also stay away from anything too modified. Buying an EVO can be a very emotional thing because its such a great car, but try to be as analitical as you can be. Emotion leads to making bad decisions like buying a bad car, getting married, and gambling on football .

Oh, I wouldn't pay much over $21000, you could get a new one right now for around $28500.

i got my 03 with 20k miles on it for 25k otd with warranty good til 35k miles. Only thing i'd check for is the transmission on the 03s have some quarks. I guess how much you pay depends on where you live.

Isn't the stock warrenty good till 36,000 and the drivetrain warrenty good till 60,000 miles. What kind of a warrenty was it?
