buurning smell with new EVO

Did anyone notice a slight burning smell kind of like when a new exhaust is installed when they first got there EVO. I have 591 miles now and it is becoming fainter but I still smell it. I do not launch or go past 5k rpms so it is not from ragging on the car. Also I can feel a lot of heat coming from the engine vent on the hood is this normal, the car never runs hot on the temp gauge.

I always "think" I'm smelling something from my car, but I'm pretty sure it's in my head. Heat from the engine vent is def normal.

I think a lot of the smell comes from that undercoat crap they spray on. There was some on my exhaust that burned off for months. I still get that smell after a particularly spirited drive.
