Head Unit Gurus ? IPOD

I've looked around, but perhaps have looked in the right place, or at the right brands, can anyone point me in the direction of a headunit that has a aux jack in the FRONT of the unit or faceplate where i can plug into for ipod access???

i dont want the plugs in the back with a wire hanging out somewhere and im trrying to get around the alpine ipod adapter ........ just a direct plugin right in the front.

Thanks

i dont think there is one out yet that i know of? i recently just bought my headunit and all the ones i have seen are in the back. the ipod functionality is fairly new to the car stereo world, so some of the brands are not yet thinking of frontal aux inputs. although i have heard of ipod connecting to a radio station frequency. so there are no wires connected at all. you might want to research that.

I'm curious about the same thing as well. Want to enjoy the ipod music in the car. Tried the radio receiver but it just sucked!
I heard Alpine has a head unit that can take ipod connection and also other brands as well. Search the internet. There are reviews of these products.

Aiwa makes some headunits with a front aux input. This one was found on Crutchfield for 99$, but damn is it ugly.

Aiwa CDC-X304

Other than that, you can look for the newer Alpines that can use the KCA-420i which can interface with your iPod.

yea the aiwa has one, but that radio is sooooo ****ty. You will be much better off going with the aline or pioneer with a direct ipod interface...

Any radio that has an aux on the front of the radio is typically crap. Why dont you just get a cheaper radio that has an aux out on the back of the radio, and run an rca to mini into the cubby hole...
