2003 evo question

2003 evo question

i was reading on some other thread and i noticed someone say "was it built before march 2003"...........

what does that mean.............was there a flaw in the ones that were built before march or were they slower or more recalls...........fill me in fellaz..

I got mine in Feb. 03 so it got to be build before that. Been to the track and drag strip many many times. No problem beside the clutch. Maybe those build before Mar. 03 are good. LOL.

There have been a couple of minor recalls, an information sticker and fan belt controller but I think that's it. My 03 I got in July and has ~40k on it without any problems and here in DC one of the locals has ~100K on his.

Only problem I've had with my '03 (bought it new in May 04) has been the P0300 code issue.

The dealer swapped the #3 and #4 injectors around and the problem has never come back.
Clutch is fine @26,000mi. Then again, I have never launched this car.

it's about importing to Canada, evos are allowed to be registered if built before then. evos do not pass their collision safety check but was not on the list till after March, so those built before have a loop hole to get through.

ahhhh there we go........i know a lot of folks in canada... Toronto area that love the lancer evo's but cant get them........and i know they would love to hear this stuff............. thanks much Again
