Steel Braded line,

Hey what type of steel braided line is used used for the waste gate and bov, is it a modified/custom brake type line, thats what it kinda looks like.

I've never heard of such a thing. You just use normal, rubber vaccuum lines for the wastegate and BOV connections.

What is this SS braided line you are referring to? I thought those were only for fluids (brakes/clutch).

back when i had my SR20 the Shop Had made SS lines from the BC to the wastegate and to the manifold. We found the stock rubber lines would balloon and sometimes erupt from the extreamly high pressure 35+ PSI.

I noticed them again on AMS' Shop car but was wondering if anyone knew whst exaclty they were.

must be custom , cause i havent seen any for sale
majority of evo owners boost less than 35psi

you could custom fit some teflon inner lining with ss overbraid, but it would be somewhat inflexible and extremely expensive relatively speaking. If you've ever put on the an aftermarket turbo, the oil supply is usually made of teflon/ss overbraid. That's how stiff the stuff would be.

The thicker walled vacuum hose made today is very stout and capable of handling 35 psi easily. If it balloons, it won't be by much and won't impact performance.
