A friendly word of advice to all new Evo owners...
That's pretty good getting 16K on the advans. Mine were done in 10K. The wear was mostly on the outside edges.

The tech said that factories are sometimes not that diligent when it comes to aligning their new cars to the exact specifications. On mine, the toe was off considerably (though the camber was fine). It was enough to shorten the life of the tires.
By the way, I had to get the factory specs for the 05's from the dealership. The alignment shop didn't even have them for the 04's. Just a thought.

I have the 03 service manual it states..........camber is an option but should be withing 0 degrees to + or - 2. caster in the front should be 3.55 degrees + or - .30. Toe should be 0 + or - 2 mm. For the rear, the toe should be 3 + or - 2 mm. Camber for the rear is -1 + or - .30 degrees. Thrust angle should be 0. hope this helps.

so from what I'm gathering alignment isn't covered by warranty? hmmm I've got about 2800 miles on mine and am not so sure they did all those checks the day of the purchase. but I have been keeping an eye on the advan's tread and they seem to be doin alright.
I took mine in last week and the dealer was asking why I wanted the alignment checked if the car wasn't pulling one way or the other. I finally lied and said it was pulling left so they would check it. The service manage then comes up and says the toe was off. He also told me alignment was warrantied for one year. I got mine done two days before the one year deadline.
I noticed around 8-10k that one of the rear tires was wearing unevenly...wearing faster on the inside edge. Got the car aligned and turned out that the toe was off on that tire. I could've gotten it done under warranty but didn't have time to drop it off at the dealership and deal with their BS.
I have a ~18,5 on the car and I think I can get another 2k out of them...although I'm very cautious in the wet weather now.

I bet the alignment is off because they were sitting for so long before we bought, did you try getting a road force balance before the alignment, i did it last week while we were not busy at work and felt alot better due to no shimming or vibrations.
Had an alignment done around 8,000. The RR toe was off just a touch. I now have 17,000 and my Advans are shot although worn the same exact way on each tire. Inside bald, outside worn down. I've been running about 5psi up from shock on each tire for the last 2,000 miles as well.
I put my car on the alignment rack at about 2k miles. The alignment was dead on from the factory. The tires were starting to show a feathered wear pattern, and the factory toe specs were a little too much toe-in for my taste, so I set the toe to 0. I'm at 6k miles now and the tires are less than half worn, so I'm happy. This is all street driving, but I do corner aggressively.
