Hi, i keep thinking about this for while, give me some advises//
I am going to put the downpipe, test pipe, catback on my evo, so inorder to get better result, i am thinking if it is necessary to take out the stock box or not, Should i just change it to an intake or just change the air fiter of it and keep it?
thanks

Most people are going to tell you to either stick with the stock airbox and use a drop-in filter or get an intake with a tune.
I myself went with the HKS RS intake as seen in my signature.

All depends if u plan on getting a tune. The stock airbox is much quieter. Ive ownder a injen intake, works drop in, and now a buschur intake. I like the buschur by far no driveability problems the injen gave me some idling problems

I bought all my parts in one shot including my injen intake and then shipped off my ECU to get flashed for all my new parts. Then i instaled all of em while the ECU was out learning how to be faster
Intake= waste of money unless you really have to get one.. Prime example *of when to get one*: Nice stage 4 AMS car. I would just save the cash and leave the stocker on untill other mod's force you to remove it.
The stock airbox is good until AT LEAST 520whp, if not more. If you're going to buy an intake, you may as well get a VTA BOV at the same time. But I would suggest you save your money.
I bought the Works drop in and saved about 150 bucks compared to an intake.

he means the mass air flow sensor or maf......
if you change to an intake the maf sensor doesnt read what its supposed to and can actually make you slower without a tune
i say get a drop in or get a tbe and a tune if your gonna do it...

Since we're on the subject of an intake, here's a question. I don't like the factory braided rubber upper IC pipe/ hose combo(expands too easily), so I was thinking of installing the Injen intake w/ upper IC just before getting it re-tuned by Al. I already have a full 3" TBE, (255 fp & Forge MBC intalling this week) and a K&N drop in. Is it worth it?
