I'm considering the Lojack system with the addon alarm as one package.. That was what my dealer recommended, but I held off until I could hear others opinions and what it might interfere with.

well, insurance wont give me a break for lojack, and it already has an immobilizer so screw that idea. I have an appointment to get a DEI 2-way alarm installed next weekend.. I'm torn b/w the hornet and the viper, though they're basically the same. I'm more worried about people breaking into my car or trying to take parts off of it (HID's, FMIC, etc.). It'll cost me around $500 with the remote start installed too (unsure whether I'll do this or not, but if it will give me turbo timer ability, then I will.)

Well the good news is there's very little interchange between components on this car, and other american model cars.. What good is the entire assembly if there's no other car that it fits? Its slightly larger than the lancer assembly.. the FMIC could be a possible target for theft.. But it would be difficult to get out of the car quickly without drawing attention to themselves doing it. I think the front doors, interior panels, and trunk lid are the only true interchange for this car and the standard lancer.. I'd be concerned about the Trunk lid, badges, wing, wheels.. not so much the headlight assemblies, FMIC, hood, taillight lenses because their EVO 8 specific in the USA.. However theives are pretty stupid.. The problem is alot of stolen parts end up in the bodyshops that repair the cars.. so you gotta wonder if the **** that may get stolen, is sold back to the place fixing it... Go figure..
