Interesting, quick story

Last night, after my MBA class ended around 9:30, I drove out of the parking garage at work, and got stopped by some random guy wandering around the parking lot. In fact, I saw that he was wondering around with 3-4 other guys spread out as if they were lost. The first one flagged me down and asked if I knew were a particular restaurant was. I did kno where it was and immediately knew why he was asking - because there was no clear passageway from our campus to the parking lot of the restaurant, and the restaurant faces the other direction, so there is on visible sign.

In order to better point him in the right direction, I got out of the MR and showed him where to go. That's when I noticed he had a British accent simultaneously as he asked me if that was an FQ-330. At first, I was confused and did a double-take, but then I realized that in a random encounter with a British guy at 9:30pm in Northern Virginia, I just had someone ask me if I was driving an FQ-330, haha. I grinned and said that it was just a USDM MR, but that it certainly had more power than an FQ-300, heh.

He said "good show" and headed off to the restaurant. I found it neat that the guy knew about FQs...

Yeah i was stationed in England for four years and i'll tell you this much, Brits know there cars. But at first i could imagine it to strike you are odd to here a british accent that late at night out there . Good people though, they have race tracks all over the place in England, its wild cause you'll see a motorcycle race track spring up outta no where in the country, domolision races all the time , and drag racing like wild. But then again they drive way better over there and their usual speed limit is like 60 mph on a two lane country road . Alot of nice roads to drive on, twisties and nice straight aways! Miss the place.

Interesting story! As a fellow Brit, all the people I know in the UK that drive the Evo VIII and IX opted for the FQ version instead of the bottom-of-the-range "260". Come to think of it, in the two weeks over Christmas in the UK I saw not a single Evo. However, I saw two Focus RS's, which was weird as there are only around 2500 in the country (one is mine, and another guy in the village of 100 where my parents live have one). I also saw two Subie P1's.

I used to love driving there but now the sheer amount of speed cameras has gotten to stupid levels. It's not that I speed everywhere, but that they trigger at a couple of mph over the designated speed. I find myself watching the speedo more than I do the road.

I've had my car for under a week and the reaction I'm getting from people blows me away. I really didn't think it would be much more than my WRX which had a few mods as well as appearance mods and looked very nice IMO. I guess it just wasn't as boisterous as my Evo.
I've caught al kinds of people checking out my car in parking lots, people hooting and hollering from other cars, etc. But the one that blew me away was lastnight some guy that must have been closing in on 80 asked me if it was the 300hp model. He may have thought it was an STI but the fact that he knew about either car was pretty cool.

I had a few reactions from people when I first got it, but then again, that was the last time my car was clean for more than a day!

So difficult to keep a TB clean, especially when living near dirt roads.

My EVO never fails to draw attention, whether it be from other sports cars, or other normal cars.....

But one thing I do notice is that people try so hard to catch up to me and pass me....asi if to egg me on to race or something...
