stock blow off valve question

I am reverting back to the stock BOV and I had a question… the top of the valve with the small tapered inlet seems to be removable (at least from my BOV… see pictures). Is this normal? Can I reinstall it, or has it given up the ghost? For reference, when I put the tapered end into the BOV (long end down) it seems relatively loose. Any ideas???

What the hell is that thing? That's not part of the stock BOV. You should have two large openings just like it shows in the pic. The one on top goes to the IC pipe and the one on the side goes to the MAF pipe opening.

You guys are great!!… I inherited the BOV from the previous owner and I now realize he included some superfluous parts in the box. Thank you SOOO much!

that small piece that you tried to put inside the BOV is an inline filter. you put it on the vac line before the BOV, it keep dirt from entering the BOV diaphram.

The stock valve is not a bov nor does it VTA, it's a BPV.

Ummmmmmm all blow-off valves are compressor bypass valves...and all compressor bypass valves can "blow off" if you don't plumb them back into the intake...so it's all semantics. You can recirculate the HKS Super Sequential Blow Off Valve...does that mean it's not a BOV anymore?

Thank you Mr. "Pot leaf in my avatar" guy. You knew exactly which part he was talking about when he said "stock bov" though didn't you?
