Talking Need Help with: greddy boost gauge *working funny*

My friend just bought a 2003 evo from the dealer.... and it came with a greddy boost gauge already included. But it works fine in the daytime, when the lights are off (Gauge is working properly and lights up). But at night, when we turn on the headlights it just shuts off and dosent even work.

Anyone know if theres somthing connected wrong????
Any Help would be appreciated.. Thx

There's got to be a short somewhere. The GReddy gauges take 4 inputs from the car's electrical system -- +12V, GND, ignition, and parking lights. If you turn on the headlights and this causes the unit to shut down, then I'd look at the parking light connection. It could also be a problem with the GReddy control box.

Greddy doesnt have a control box for their gauges like Defi or other brands like that, basically a sensor that sends to the gauge. Obviously something is wired wrong... I would tap different wires for the positive, neg, ign, and illum.

I also think it's a short. Try checking the wires all the way through to make sure the rubber coating didn't get rubbed off or something.

I have four GReddy warning gauges in my Evo, and each one has a control box. It's not a control box like Defi, where you can link gauges in a daisy chain, but it certainly does have electronics aside from the gauge itself.

Perhaps this guy is using the standard boost gauge? I don't have any personal experience with those.
