Should I dump Mitsu??

OK...I still have full warranty supposedly until Jan. 2007. I bought the car used and have found out I have cams installed and I'm not on the stock clutch. My dealer did some tranny repair and replaced my 3nd and 5th gear synchros with the car as-is. So now my dilemma: Should I keep my "kind-of" full warranty or start to mod like I want? I have 21k miles right now. I don't know if I should wait and then possibly get denied warranty anyway on some work. BTW, if I do mod now, I want TBE, new mbc, walbro, and EcuTek or Xede tune. What would you guys do? What kind of hp/tq do you think I get get out of all those mods together?

Depends on how bad you wanna mod it. I chose mods over warranty and i was fine but I also never got hassled for my mods even though i had all the mods u want besides the tune.

Would the EcuTek even be detectable on my '03? And I thought If I get the Xede, I would get the standalone which I believe will let me easily change back to the stock ecu settings. I want to mod really bad. I'm considering selling my motorcycle to do it. Im just a little hesitant and need some encouragement.

The day I bought my car I started modding it.. I figured mitsu is crap for warrenty work anyways, just have some fun. BTW first mod was evo 7 lights off my 03 so that wouldnt void anything, er uh I mean it prob would have void everything. Point is I did a few cosmetics on her once I knew she was going to be a good trooper I started tearing things apart. Less than 11k on the ticker and its far far from stock. Its a fun car to work on.

Ok...Im going for it. Can't resist the power! With that in mind, I'm now worried about long-term repair costs. Such as, if worse came to worse, how much is a new tranny, t/c , and engine? Whoa, that would be a nightmare!

well, you basically got one of the more harder mods in the car. which would be the cams. if their aware of this. really what else can they say ya know? throw on the the exhaust and whatever else you needed, i dont think they'll say anything

Got to pay to play, make sure you set a little money aside just in case something goes wrong. An example, if I were to save $300 a month to mod my (future) EVO, $200 would be for the car, $100 for emergency.

Well, they are not aware of my cams. Personally I don't think they knew how to work on an evo. That's why I have been taking it to tuners just for oil changes, etc. I'm thinking If i got a custom tune or flash that could control boost, my mods may not be detectable by this dealer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You probably won't have much/if any trouble until your car is out of warranty anyway. So f it...

Why wait????
