Scary morning.

I fitted a new intercooler and piping to my car yesterday and everything was running fine after.
I got and made my way into work I was driving it on a bit as I wanted to see did I notice any diverence from standard it was peaking up to about 1,4 at times where is used to peak at 1.3 next thing I hear a bit of a bang and the car looses power so i taught i must have hit fuel cut so then pressed the accelerator again and nothing so I pulled into the hard shoulder and all I was thinking was no no no no the timing belt has snap or something serious has gone wrong ££££££££.
I got out and popped the bonnet to see if anything was loose or was anything leaking it was dark so I didnt really see anything. So I rand my poor pregnant girlfriend and got up out of bed to bring down my tools to take off the cam belt cover.
Then I looked down at the intercooler and the pipe from the turbo had come off the intercooler.
It was just beutiful to see. I couldnt believe how did I not think of that straight away I think cause I was just thinking of the worst case so much I didnt think properly.
Anyway I still had to get the car towed which cost me about 200 quid and I was late for work but least it was better than having to have a rebuild or a new engine.

That happens a fair bit. Time to invest in some T-clamps.

or steal some of your girlfriends hairspray, and spray it on the inside of the hoses prior to installing them. It makes them tacky enough that my pipes haven't blown off in the last 20K miles.
