got an evo 9, traded in evo 8 experience

I am here in Salt Lake City, Utah. I had a 03 BBY Evo with 20k miles on it. I have been very happy with it and never had a problem. It was stock. I really like the 9's front end, seats, and the new power, and at a mall by my house Mike Riddle Mitsu was there with a bunch of evos. I was choosing between a RR 09 and a Black 09 with the leather package, both GSR. I ended up getting the RR, no leather. It seems to have a little more grunt down low, but I am taking it easy till it is broken in. I definetly like the new seat material.

As soon as I parked my car, lots of people were looking at it. The dealership called my about 6 hours after I left needing me to bring back a paper they mistakenly gave me, so I went back and they had already sold the car. I talk to the kid when I was first there and he was still there. He said while he was waiting for financing that some else test drove it, and they smoked the clutch. And man did it smell. Someone had stole the shift knob and he opened the sunroof and it wouldn't shut. The sunroof always worked before. I couldn't believe I am away from my former baby for 6 hours, and it is already getting trashed. Anyway, I am very happy with my new purchase, feel bad for my old car.

They gave my 23750 for my 03, and sold the 09 for MSRP. One thing that really pisses me off, is that they added some permaguard chemicals and charged me 500, some window etch 400, and gap insurance for 500. I threw a fit, and they took off the window etch and the gap, but refused to waive the permaguard, which is a total rip off. I am thinking about taking them to small claims court, because the permaguard basically covers what is in the car warranty. And when I went back, they accused me of stealing the shift knob off my old car, because I left there chewing them out for ripping me off. I would never buy from Mike Riddle again.

I will try to post pics later. Any suggestions on what upload service to use.

Um, you agreed to buy it. What good will small claims court do? Unless they held a gun to your head, you have no case.

Dealers love adding **** like that because its a freaking ripoff. When i bought my car, it had a $600 pinstripe job on it. No way in hell I paid for that and the first thing I did when i got it home was take the pinstripes off.

Better than my experiance bro, I traded in my 03 Apex Silver Evo VIII that only had 11,8XX miles on it. Bone stock, never saw a mod. I got the IX for $26,800 but they only gave me $19,500 for my trade-in. They gave me some BS about the trade-in being lower because it needed new rear brake pads!!?? I should have walked and held out for a better deal, but I was so damn excited to be getting into a IX.....live and learn right? Congrats on your IX.

All they did was inflate his trade in and added the cost to the price of the IX. On you're they didn't. It's not worth the upgrade in my book not even a little bit....unless you are keeping in bolt on only or stock.

go back and get gap insurance on it.you want gap insurance.if you totalled the car without gap you screwed.the gap pays the difference bewteen what your insurance didnt pay and what you owe.if you totalled the today, you would be out big time.with gap the car would be paid off.its a great investment.

Or chance it and get a Lawyer if it gets stolen or totaled. Insurance will pay it off. My brother's 01 WS6 Trans-AM was totaled and he was upside down after trade in. $1,500 to a lawyer and the insurance paid off the car completely. The $1500 got him 7k more than offered by insurance. To make things worse my father was driving the car when it happened (DUI) and was not insured for this car....

I can buy gap from the credit union for 200 dollars, why pay their 500 for it. Plus if you have allstate, they will cover the difference with New Car Replacement.

Yea I guess I only feel bad because another dealership called me after I had bought it and told me that I was a dumbass and that I got ripped off big time. They, and Im talking the owner of this mitsu dealership, told me they were going to give me $23,500 for my trade and match the price of $27,800 for the IX. The funny thing is that before I went and picked up the IX I emailed this other place and asked them what I would be looking at OTD and all he told me was to come down and we would talke it over....never gave me a price. Yet after I had already bought from somewhere else this guy has all kinds of bottom line prices and keeps emailing me about how much I got screwed and how he can't believe I fell for their trick. It really bumed me out but I figure he must be lying....if not then why didn't he offer me those figures BEFORE I bought from the other guys? I think he's full of crap. But these 2 dealerships are rivals so I expect as much.

Or better yet, don't ever put yourself in a situation where you have to worry about gap insurance. If you have to get gap insurance, you need to save up some more money.
