Cool just to confirm

I called a glass company about replacing my windshield and he said the lancer windshield WILL NOT fit our evos. I have searched and have read that the only difference was weight is this correct. Anybody who has done this thanks

It DOES fit

However it is NOT the correct glass. Our glass is thinner from what I have been told. I too have a crack in my windshield.

It does fit........

I had mine replaced in my 03 Evo through the dealer. They cut me a deal and arranged for it at cost. Something like $182 I think.

I have been in the glass business 5 years. When you call for a windshield just say you have a lancer there is no difference. Trust me I change mine every time it gets pitted and i get one for a regular lancer. The fact that you got someone that even knew what an EVO was is amazing.
The guy is probably going to tell you its an evo windshield and rape you on the price.
I don't know the laws in CA but does your insurance cover it? Maybe a small deductible. Usually the deductible for glass is different than body damage. I would call your insurance company and find out, and if its not covered than call another company and get a price for a lancer windshield. Good luck.

when i had mine replaced i was told the only differance was the little thing that the rear view mirror hangs from, It was lighter than a regular lancers mirror thing.

Evo's windshield may be the same size and shape as the Lancer's, however it's lighter due to the fact that it's thinner than the standard windshield. It will fit, but not replacing it with a correct Evo windshield would defy the purpose of the original one.

Can the installer reuse the rear view mirror on the Evo or do you have to go out and get a regular Lancer rear view mirror?
