I travel the highway 62 miles round trip for work every day... The Evo just laughs at you... it is saying PUSH ME... speed up... pass that guy... drive me like a race car. I have resisted this entire time. Every time a civic or eclipse comes up and revs thier motor, I resist street racing them... Every time someone cuts me off, I resist a quick twich of the wheel and nice pull up to 120... I have been a good boy in this car. However, unless you are planning on tracking the car... the good boy attitude turns this race car in a rough daily driver.

Then the final straw came... and new role at work that led me into more client interaction... you should see the faces when I drive a pretty high level executive to lunch in the Evo... kinda hard to explain.

I thought long and hard about what I would want in a car to replace to the Evo... (for about the same cost) and I listed... needs to be a civilized ride with good handling, have decent power (not much can match the Evo) have a well appointed interior so that I can feel good on the highway, have good looks / nice lines, and be unassuming enough that young kids won't immediately want to race me. I set off my search and I fell in love... Inifiniti G35 Coupe 6mt. WOW.

Before you bash... IT IS NOT AN EVO... it can't do 0-60 in a nanosecond or pull 15 g on the skidpad... it is isn't a race car. BUT what it is, is a very very nice luxury sports coupe that is classy and unassuming... The interior is amazing, the power delivery is soo quite and smooth, it will take some getting used to.

I have and will always love Evo's... they are AMAZING cars... I just wish that I could afford both... maybe someday I can. I will still lurk around on the sites and try to stay up with new models, etc.. I just wanted to say thanks to any and all this site that has helped me in Evo experience...

THANKS AND SO LONG
Tim
sorry to hear
gl with g35

had a g35 coupe, descent car....not great though. not very roomy.

if it were me, and i know you didn't ask for suggestions, but....i would get a 01-02 m3 with low mileage.....

i know exactly what you mean about clients though. i am in a sale position(sorta) and have to drive to see client etc....i can't get rid of the evo though...and can't wait to be able to afford another car to drive daily. at this point, i would rather keep the evo and buy a used honda for 5k to drive daily. nothing impresses clients more than modesty....unless you are selling ferarris!

I respect that decision you made. It's a very professional decision and I hope you have good luck selling the evo and getting your G35

keep your evo at least until october. the new g35 coupe will be out then. 335 hp v8. the platform will be from the m35 with the 335 hp and shaped a lot nicer than the plateform now. that is what my wife will do, trade in her 05 g35 4dr for the the new one. you will be hateing it when you just bought yours and a few months later the new one just came out. the value of yours will definitly go down. good luck

I know everyones gonna hate but if your gonna get a car you should look at the 2006 GTO Ya i know its american but its got way more ***** that a G35. I traded my first evo for a 35th ann. 350Z had the 300HP motor and it felt so danm slow after a week of having it. The G35 is a slow lux car what is cool its a nice car. But on the other hand if you want a RWD car and same price range with a 0-60 like a EVO go with the GTO all aluminum V-8 6-speed 400HP/400TQ 0-60 and 1/3 mile is the same as a EVO . And that way you ll have some *****=) But if you come across a Moded evo ya you ll still lose. =))

Why not just yank the spoiler? It would be cheaper.

He wants something classier than an EVO... not uglier. An EVO might look a little bit 'ricer' but it's still sleek and kinda sexy. A GTO isn't any more "customer-friendly" than an EVO. In my opinion... it's kinda ugly. Performance isn't his issue... it's comfort and looks.

the only problem with the g35 is that everybody and there mother has one. well in my area. if i was a client and i see g35 everyday, i would be thinking how orginal. But thats my opinion. first off what you need to do is go to carmax and test drive a bunch of cars, find the one that suits you while saying look i mean business. then when you find the one that meets your needs and you are comfortable with a carmax car buy it. if not go to the dealership. most of the time you get a better apr with a new car. but i would look at some more cars before you settle on just one right away.

I have looked at several cars.... To cover off a few points... in my area the G35 is not as common as I hear in SoCal or other areas, so originality isn't the key. I work with a small growing company (about 60 employees) and no kidding at least 50% have 3 0r 5 series BMWs... I see them more than any other car... and am sick of looking at them (Some areas are like that with the G35).

As for a fast car, etc... that isn't what I am looking for... Evo Lust said... I am not looking for a car that hauls A$$... I am looking for a well-rounded car with a little pep. There are many out that that fit the the bill... but the G35 is the one that really captured my attention... and from what I have is one of the best value-holding cars available... so in 2-3 years if I am looking to get something else, I will be able to get some money back out of it

I am going to be out the next two days watching basketball and hopefully will get the car on Saturday... i will try and post pics of it if anyone is interested...

Thanks for all your support and honest opinions...

Good luck with that! Great choice on the G35, I don't see them much here in Orange County.

Dude, when you are a serious mountain biker, with a wife, a new apartment (and soon a kid) a little bit of room in the back is a good thing.
