whats the proper way to launch an EVO i just got into AWD cars coming from an e36 m3 and an R1 but this will be my first AWD i heard that hard launches are real bad for the car im not looking to do it often just wondering what the proper technique is


i was also looking to get around 350 hp to the wheels what will i need to do to achieve this it seems like a full exhaust with everything included downpipe etc a boost controller and cams with cam gears and reflash i saw most people were using 272s but i was intersted in the 280s what kind of power will they produce and what will the power curve be like im more intersted in mid/low bc i dont reawlly like revving the motor up (beat on it)

what kind of hp are stock evos dynoing at


what are some weak spots on this particular model im looking at around an 03 evo 8 i heard that the motor is basically bullet proof but the cltuch and drivetrain are weak what do i need to look out for and what kind of recalss did the dealer have if any

350whp= TBE exhaust, MBC, Fuel pump, LICP, K&N drop in filter, Dynoflash, and Cams

From what you discribed you ether want 264/272 or just strait 264's.

When you start to upgrade your car plan on getting a clutch very soon, your not going to be making enough power to mess up your tranny or t-case but those are week points on the 03's.

I'm sorry, man, but every single thing you asked in here has been answered tons of times. I just don't feel like doing all the work for you to answer all these questions even though I know the answer to them all. Is it too much to ask for you to actually spend some time searching and reading instead of being lazy? Spend a few hours using the advanced search to find the answer to every topic. When you're done, you will be VERY WELL EDUCATED in terms of the Evo, and you will be much more satisfied than if I sit here and answer it all for you. After you've done all that and have a much better understanding of everything, THEN make a new thread asking much more specific questions. That's how it's done.

Here's one hint to get you started on the launch question. In the advanced search, look for posts by the user warrtalon. Even better, look for threads started by warrtalon with the word launch in them.
