Stage 1 and Tune = CEL??

Hey guys ... just got my Stage 1 Kit, Walbro Pump and it was tuned by Al, and now she is throwing a CEL on me?? I'm not sure what triggered the CEL, but wanted to get your opinions on what may be causing this, and if anyone else has run into this issue after getting similiar mods done??

Thanks,
Nick

Are you running cat-less? If so that will do it unless you have the fixes?

People report those still kick on the CEL.Does you cat have the band clamps or bolt up? If its a bolt in, replace with the stock for a test session.I use the mechanical fix.

Pull the code at your local autozone or pepboys.

Get the code scanned , then get back to us. We're just playing the "I think this is the problem" game.

why don't people with CEL problem pull their CEL Code before they come in here and ask why and who?

CEL Codes basically tells you what happened and which area you should take a look. Then you could ask why and which specific part that maybe triggering these CEL codes.

lazy bums...

You should go get a cell code puller, it's $70.

Well, yeah, tons and tons of people have CEL codes when installing an exhaust. It's par for the course. Read the code before asking us, because we're just guessing.

I got a CEL after installing a high-flow cat. Got it checked out and that is what it was. Did the anti-fouler fix. No more CEL. But yeah, get it checked out anyway just to be sure.

OK guys ... just got back from AutoZone and the code is P0420 - Catalyst Effeciency.

Now my car was tuned by Al at Pruven Performance, so shouldn't the ECU not be alarmed that my Hi-flow cat is not cleaning as well as a stock Cat??

That code will be thrown with some high flow cats and test pipes as its less restrictive than the stock cat. Try the mechanical o2 fix or use an o2 simulator.

Where is the best place to buy the Mechanical O2 fix, and is it fairly straightforward to install??
