I just stoped by my local Mitsubishi dealer to start the process of buying a new EVO (WOOT). To my surprise they said they don't have any, and might not get any in until 2008 when the EVO X comes out!! Are new EVOs that hard to get or is he just feeding me a line to keep me from haggling? The dealer is in upstate NY, and from what I understand a fairly big volume dealer. I go there regularly to service my Eclipse and until today I have never seen less then three EVOs there. I am finally in a position to buy an EVO and they don't have any. WTF?!?!?!?! Maybe it's just a bad dream....

 

That's some bull****. Get one shipped from South Coast.

 

My local dealer absolutely will NOT deal on his remaining IX. Meanwhile S. Coast is getting in 117. Go figure...

 

1 dealer in Hawaii (Oahu) has only 3 out of the 6 that came in 1 month ago

 

its because mitsu has some program where the more evos the dealer sells the more they get, so between southcoast selling all the evos that means they are getting most of the upcoming shipments so smaller dealers may not get any or not many

 

It's only March. There are going to be plenty of new Evos coming in to dealerships everywhere.

 

A nearby dealer has 3 mrs, 1gsr, and an rs in stock! PM meif interested.

 

Would I have to get in contact with a dealer down there, or could I do it through the local dealer?

I guess it is a pretty big issue, I'll try to get more info out of the salesmen by me and see if it supports of contradicts the information we have.

Why buy locally? I had to drive 180 miles one way to get mine. Find the car you want and go get it, or see if the local dealer can trade for it. Although sometimes they drive the thing between dealers so it isn't always wise unless they ship it.
