Well I bought an MR. 8000 down. Im paying 810 a month but Im only doing 3 years. My interest rate is 4.75%. The payment isnt really the issue. If you take into consideration for gas and insurance. I would say gas cost about $30-$35 to fill up each time. So lets say I think on average a person drives a 1000 miles a month if its a daily driver. So Gas would be around $150 a month. Then lets consider insurance. Rough estimate would probably be in the $1500-$2000 range to have full coverage. So broken down it would be about another $160 a month. So add it all up heres what you get.

Gas-$150
Insurance-$160
Payments-$500
Total-$810

So on average you would have to use about $800 a month to support the EVO. Hope this helps.

PS. Modifications havent even been considered. And anyone can vouch that once you start you cant stop so figure about another $200 a month at least.

Damn, nice interest rate. Did you go through Mitsu, or your own lending institution? Was this recently?

Great, great info guys....I appreciate it. Seems at this time, its a bit out of my reach. Sucks too because Ive been scanning this board now for a couple of weeks any everybody seems real cool........which doubles the suckiness that this seems out of reach. These days Im over on Altima's.net..........a site for boy scouts......a 1,500 post thread about an intake plenum that takes over 18 months to hit production.........finally gets dyno'd to deliver about 11 whp....for over $800. Ground Wire kits that spark heated debate on the huge gains!!! Its pathetic..............
Im gonna bounce in and out of here every so often so I can stay abreast.........and someday, I'll find a way...............

Thanks..............

bolt..........

At least you know your limits. A great car is only a great car if you can afford to enjoy it. Otherwise, you'll only think about making the massive car payments, and stressing about the car more than enjoying it.
And anyhow, the cars aren't going anywhere. They will only get cheaper, and mods will become more plentiful. Let everyone else take the hit on them first, and then pick up a used MR and go to town.

LMAO..........one thing Ive found being on this site for sure is Ive never seen this level of passion for a car before.........and Ive been on Mustang sites for example and am a long time member of the VBoard, the SPEC-V sort of having a cult following.............but nothing even comes close to this board.
Id venture to say from reading a fair # of posts in the past few weeks that driving an Evo even beats the **** out of sex!!!!

WHOA WHOA WHOA now, thats probably your old age talking.

I happen to look forward to having sex everytime with my girlfriend. Maybe your gf or wife does not look as good as the evo but mine happens to be far prettier than my evo IMHO. hehe
