Motor Trend Road Test: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI vs. 2006 Mitsubishi Evo IX MR
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...12_rally_cars/
My favorite paragraph:
Racing teams will appreciate the help where WRC Championship points are won and lost within tenths of a second. In the real world, however, both the MR and the STI are still supremely capable and entertaining and only fractionally more so this time around. We'd still bet money on either one against a Lamborghini or Ferrari on the right track. Yes, those hard-core Evo or STI fans who spend hours in their respective online forums might feel a nuance here and there, but neither one has leapfrogged the other. In fact, the Evo and STI perform closer than ever before.
I know it's an old article (December 2005) but I just came across it on the Motor Trend web site

I will say that the only thing I like more about the Sti over the Evo is the stock BBS wheels and the sound of the boxer motor. Not to say I dont love the sound our car makes. But our seats arent made at the factory and that is way cool. Mitsu buys the seats and puts them in the car how cool is that. When it came time to buy my new car I researched it for 18 and went with the EVO there both nice cars dont get me wrong you should be lucky to own either one but I went with the Evo for a reason...

I wish they would explain why the STI finished first other than the fact that its 3,000 cheaper then the Evo MR. Would the Evo have won if it was a regular IX gsr? Did they forget it exists??

Nice to see the sti get a magazine victory for once. It must have gotten old when the evo was 1st in all comparo's. Well, second thought it wasn't old to me.
