Does anyone have a weighted shift knob? I sounds like a good idea but before i spent 50 bucks I figured I'd ask if anyone has one and how much you like it.

 

i just wanna know if the knob being weighted helps make the shifts faster and smoother

If you have an MR, don't you already have a weighted shift knob from the factory? I had a 2G DSM w/ a GReddy weighted shift knob and the difference was minimal. But it is only $50 so if you like the look of it...

 

im not sure how heavy it feels because i never held a weighted one but the factory one feels light. as far as i know they both have the same knob

 

find someone with the 03 leather "baseball" one and you'll see the difference.

 

makes a huge difference, when i put the weighted shift knob on my car, the shifts were easier and smoother. felt weird at first, but after awhile it just becomes butter.

I think the added weight will impair cornering and braking and acceleration and all.

 

just get a short shifter kit...

 

 

it feels better imo, i drove my friends evo 8 with counterweighted shift knob, and in my opinion it had more of a tactile feedback to it than my ix mr with stock knob

 

I love mine.

 

I had the rx-8 weighted shift knob on mine it felt great but then got the MR shift knob quite a bit of difference i would say

 

I have the Greddy with the B&M short shifter and the Brass bushings. Big difference all together.
