Are people surprised that YOU own an Evo?
most people who have known me and the cars I've owned in the past arent surprised at all, as a matter of fact for them to see me driving a slow car would be unheard of, like the world coming to an end......
Anyhow, my past cars have been a 190+ WHP 95 Integra GSR, a 270+ WHP SRT4, and a 91 N/A MR2

To most people it's not a big shock. I'm single, white, 27. My beater car is a 91 300zx twinturbo. I also have owned a 4dr turbo integra gsr, and I bought a Subaru WRX the same month they were released in the states, (march '01).
I also told everyone within shouting distance how much I wanted an EVO for the two years between when they were released and when I bought one.
I wear EVO t-shirts and have EVO pictures in my cube at work... So yeah, don't think I surprise anyone.

out of the 100 cars in my corporate lot there is an S4, 911 Turbo and the RS the other 97 are not worth talking about... the people who know whats up are the only ones I care about... although there are a few car buffs there that apperciate the whip but dont have a muscle car.
Yes, I'm 22 and a manager at a grocery store, all of my friends say,"how did you get an evo working there?", none of them know i'm a manager, so I tell them i'm a bagger and they go "Oh S***"........I love it
Considering I work at a Subaru dealership, yeah I get a lot of (good natured) flack...
I've tried to explain to them that I did want an STi until the new IX's came out, and that it's simply a better performance car, but they just can't seem to get it, even though they know how much time I spend reading/reserching these cars.
Doesn't really bother me though. Since this is my weekend/fun car, I'll probably very rarely bring it in to work (since I get a demo), other than to bring it in initially just so they can see it. Truthfully, since there's not many imports in the area (other than Subaru and Toyota), most probably haven't ever seen an Evo anyway.

the strange thing with me is even evo owners ask me what that BR350 badge means.(DAVE you listening). We gotta get these in a magazine for a test,i,ll be glad to let them use mine. very serious!!!!!
All the time, but my contemporaries are medical students. "That car looks like it came from the fast and the furious." I laugh and tell them that my reasons are above their general knowledge of cars and they are welcome to believe anything they wish
