Exclamation Buschur Racing FMIC damaged!

Yesterday I was just finishing up my cam install when UPS delivered my Buschur parts.

When I took the FMIC out of the box I realized that one the cardboard protectors was torn so I took it off and the front of the FMIC was bent and pushed in.

Is there any way of fixing this? What will this damage do to performance?

Not Bad.

Use this tool or just get a small blade screw driver and bend the fins straight.

Another tool to use could be the Radiator Fin Pliers from eastwoodco.com:

http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT

But in general any thin pliers can "adjust" those fins back to where they need to be.

Good luck!

sounds like these things need to be packaged better for shipping. if it were me, I would contact UPS and request that they replace it. that is what shipping insurance is for

Nah, to much of hassle, I will just try to fix it.

Another question: Is a tune required after I install it, or is it drivable?

Thanks

Yeah I plan on getting a tune next weekend but I want to install my parts now.

I just installed HKS 272 cams and plan on installing the FMIC, upper ic, lower ic, fuel pump, BR maf intake kit, mini battery kit, and MBC this week.

How bad will the car run for a few days until the tune.

I guarentee going down the road less than 1 mile, and it will have some "imperfections" a LOT worse than that.

My Buschur FMIC came like that also, it is really hard to avoid that. And like someone said earlier drive the car for a few days and debris is going to hit it on the road and do it all over again. Didnt your stock fmic look like that when you removed it? I know mine did, I didnt bother straightening it out as it is a minimal imperfection. This intercooler does kickass though. When datalogging on my AEM ems the charge air temp only increase a few degrees even after several long pulls.

Go to any electronics store and they will have duck bill pliers that are perfect for straitening the fins
